Mbappé's Champions League Record by Club: Monaco, PSG and Real Madrid Compared
Kylian Mbappé Champions League goals split by club: Monaco, PSG and Real Madrid eras compared by games, goals, assists, knockout record and hat-tricks, live data.

Kylian Mbappé's Champions League career is really three careers. A teenage breakout that terrified Europe for one season. Seven years as the face of a club chasing an obsession. And a Madrid chapter in which, quietly, he has become a sharper European scorer than he ever was before. In total: 71 goals in 99 appearances, among the top five scorers in the competition's history, as of 2026-10-15. This page splits the record by club, with Haaland's three-club split alongside for scale.

Monaco: one season that announced everything
Six goals in nine games at 18, and the strange detail that defines them: every one of his six Monaco goals came in the knockout rounds. Nothing in the group stage, then two against Manchester City in the 6-6 round-of-16 classic, three across both legs against Dortmund in the quarters, and one against Juventus in the semi, where the run died against prime Buffon and Chiellini. He was the youngest player ever to reach 10 career Champions League goals before the next season was done. One spring, and half of football's superclubs decided money was no object.
PSG: the longest chapter, the fullest player
Sixty-four appearances, 42 goals, and the number the other eras cannot touch: 22 assists. Paris is where Mbappé was most complete, a creator as much as a finisher, which is precisely why the raw per-game scoring (0.66) undersells those years. The peaks were enormous: the Camp Nou hat-trick and an eight-goal 2020/21, the run to the 2020 final in Lisbon, two goals in Munich against the holders, the competition's top scorer award in 2023/24 on the way to a semi-final. The scar tissue is just as famous: the final lost 1-0 without him scoring, three round-of-16 exits to Madrid and Bayern, and the sense, fair or not, that the club's European ceiling was never his to raise alone. The whole arc is traced tie by tie in our knockout series.
Real Madrid: fewer flowers, more goals
The Madrid numbers surprise people: 23 goals in 26 games, 0.88 per game, the highest rate of his three eras. The centrepiece is 2025/26: fifteen goals, the second-highest single Champions League season in history behind Ronaldo's seventeen, thirteen of them in the league phase, which is its own record. Three of his five career Champions League hat-tricks have come in white, including the treble that knocked out Manchester City in 2025 and a four-goal night against Olympiacos. The asterisk is the same one that follows the whole team: two straight quarter-final exits, so the sharpest scoring of his life has not yet carried Madrid past April. The assists column has also collapsed to 2, because Madrid bought a finisher, not the Paris playmaker.
The Haaland mirror
| Goals per game by club | Mbappé | Haaland |
|---|---|---|
| First club | Monaco 0.67 | Salzburg 1.33 |
| Second club | PSG 0.66 | Dortmund 1.15 |
| Current club | Real Madrid 0.88 | Man City 0.90 |
The shapes are opposites. Haaland's rate has gently descended from the absurd (1.33 at Salzburg) toward the merely elite as his teams and opponents improved. Mbappé's has climbed with each move, peaking now. One started as an explosion and is normalising; the other started as a prodigy's flicker and has been compounding for a decade.
Verdict
Each club got a different Mbappé, and the current one is the deadliest. Monaco had the lightning-strike kid whose entire output came on knockout nights. PSG had the most complete version, half-striker half-creator, who carried them to their only final of the era but never over the line. Madrid have the pure scorer: the best per-game rate of his career, a historic fifteen-goal season and three hat-tricks in two-plus years, still waiting for the deep spring run that would make the era undeniable.
