Erling Haaland's Norway Goals by Opponent: Every Team He Has Scored Against
Erling Haaland's Norway goals by opponent: all 28 nations he has scored against, who conceded most, the home v away split and goals by competition.

Erling Haaland has 65 goals in 59 caps for Norway. The Norway record page covers how fast he got there and which records fell on the way. This page turns the same list sideways and asks a different question: who did he score them against? It sorts every goal by opponent, then by competition, venue and the size of the night, so the record can be read for what it says about the opposition as well as the scorer.
Goals by opponent: the full table
Haaland has scored against 28 different national teams. Six of them have conceded three or more; one has conceded six. The table lists every opponent, the number of goals, and the matches in which they came.

The live total at the top of the page comes from the site dataset and will move on from 65 as Norway play; the table is fixed at the date in the caption and is updated by hand after each international window.
Who has conceded most
Moldova, with six. Five of them came in one night, the 11-1 World Cup qualifier in Oslo on 9 September 2025, and the sixth in the reverse fixture in Chișinău six months earlier. No other opponent is within two goals.
Behind Moldova sit four teams on four: Cyprus, Israel, Slovenia and Sweden. Three of those four were done in two games each. Sweden conceded two in Solna and two in Oslo inside a week in June 2022; Cyprus conceded two in Oslo and two in Larnaca during Euro 2024 qualifying; Israel conceded one in March 2025 and three in October. Slovenia is the exception, with the four goals spread over three matches in two Nations League campaigns.
The pattern that emerges is not that Haaland has a favourite victim. It is that he tends to score against the same team twice in a campaign, home and away, which is how qualifying groups and Nations League pools are built. When Norway play a side twice in six months, Haaland has usually scored in both games.
The 2026 qualifying group, team by team
The 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign supplies a quarter of the whole list. Norway played four opponents home and away, Haaland scored in all eight matches, and his 16 goals split like this:
| Opponent (2026 WC qualifying) | Away | Home | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moldova | 1 | 5 | 6 |
| Israel | 1 | 3 | 4 |
| Italy | 2 | 1 | 3 |
| Estonia | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Campaign | 5 | 11 | 16 |
Three things stand out. Three of the four away games produced exactly one goal, and the exception was Milan, where he scored two; every home game produced more, so the Oslo pitch is where the totals were made. Italy, the strongest side in the group, conceded three to him in two games. And the two smallest opponents, Moldova and Estonia, account for nine of the sixteen, which is roughly their share of the fixtures rather than evidence of a soft campaign.
Goals by competition
| Competition | Caps | Goals | Goals per game |
|---|---|---|---|
| World Cup qualifying | 14 | 21 | 1.50 |
| World Cup finals | 5 | 7 | 1.40 |
| UEFA Nations League | 20 | 22 | 1.10 |
| Euro qualifying | 8 | 6 | 0.75 |
| Friendlies | 12 | 9 | 0.75 |
| Total | 59 | 65 | 1.10 |
World Cup football, qualifying and finals combined, is where the rate is highest: 28 goals in 19 games, almost one and a half a match. The Euro qualifying number is the low point. Norway's 2024 campaign fell apart around him, with Haaland scoring six in eight and the team failing to reach the finals; he scored once against Scotland, once against Georgia and not at all against Spain. Friendlies sit at the same rate, which is a reminder that Norway's friendlies have tended to be against neighbours and mid-ranked sides rather than warm-ups against minnows.
Home and away
| Venue | Goals |
|---|---|
| Ullevaal Stadion, Oslo | 41 |
| 2026 World Cup, United States | 7 |
| Opponents' grounds and other neutral venues | 17 |
| Total | 65 |
Forty-one of the 65, close to two in three, were scored at Ullevaal. Part of that is scheduling: Norway's heaviest wins, the 11-1 against Moldova, the 9-0 against Armenia and the 5-0s against Kazakhstan and Israel, were all home games. Part of it is that Haaland's biggest hauls have all come in Oslo: every one of his six Norway hat-tricks was scored at Ullevaal. Away from home he has still scored in 12 other European countries, from Belfast in 2020 to Milan in 2025, plus the seven goals in the United States at the World Cup.
By the standard of the opposition
Sorting by opponent invites the obvious objection: Gibraltar, Moldova and Kazakhstan are on the list. They are, and they account for 12 goals between them. But the list also includes the teams Norway are least expected to beat.
- Against former world champions. Italy conceded three in two games in 2025 and Brazil two in the World Cup round of 16 in July 2026. That is five goals in three matches against two of the eight nations that have won the tournament.
- Against the 2026 World Cup field. His seven finals goals came against Iraq, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil, four opponents from three confederations. He scored in his first four finals appearances; the only World Cup game he played without scoring was the quarter-final against England, where the run ended.
- Against Norway's neighbours. Sweden four, Denmark three, Finland one. The Nordic fixtures are the ones Norwegian fans weigh most heavily, and eight of his goals have come in them.
- Against the big European names he has faced only once. Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. One goal against each of the first two, the opener in the 2021 Netherlands qualifier and the equaliser in the September 2026 Nations League defeat to Portugal, and none against Spain in Euro 2024 qualifying.
The honest reading is that the list leans European and leans mid-table, because that is who Norway play. Within that, the goals against Italy, Brazil, Sweden and Denmark are enough to show the rate survives a step up in class, if not quite at 1.5 a game.
Multi-goal games
Haaland's 65 goals came in 38 of his 59 caps. In 19 of those 38 he scored once; in the other 19 he scored two or more. The multi-goal games carry 46 of the 65 goals, so roughly seven in ten of his Norway goals were scored on nights he was already on the scoresheet.
| Goals in the match | Matches | Goals |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 1 | 5 |
| 3 | 5 | 15 |
| 2 | 13 | 26 |
| 1 | 19 | 19 |
| 0 | 21 | 0 |
| Total | 59 | 65 |
The six hat-tricks, counting the five against Moldova, are listed on the international hat-tricks page alongside Mbappé's. The 13 braces are spread across 11 different opponents, which is the detail that argues most strongly against the "only against small teams" reading: Sweden, Italy, Brazil, Senegal and Denmark are all on the braces list.
How this compares with Mbappé
Kylian Mbappé has 67 goals in 107 caps for France, 0.63 a game to Haaland's 1.10. France play a stronger calendar than Norway almost every window, with Nations League A fixtures, deep tournament runs and friendlies against other top-ten sides, so a by-opponent list for Mbappé is top-heavy in a way Haaland's is not. The site dataset does not break Mbappé's international goals down by opponent, so this page makes no claim about his most frequent victims; the fair comparison is the rate, and the international goals per game article handles it.
Verdict
Twenty-eight opponents, six of them for three goals or more, and two in three of the goals scored in Oslo. Haaland's Norway record by opponent looks exactly like a record built from UEFA qualifying groups and Nations League pools: repeat fixtures against the same mid-sized nations, decided at home. What stops it being dismissed as padding is the other column, the goals against Italy, Brazil, Sweden and Denmark, and a World Cup in which he scored in four of his five appearances. The list is lopsided because Norway's fixture list is lopsided. Within it, he has scored against almost everyone who turned up.
